- Many believe the Bible teaches us the earth is only 6000 years old. Science has shown us otherwise. Does the Bible help us to receive a better understanding of all this? I believe the answer lies between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2.
Genesis:
My RSV translation reads:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters.
Genesis 1:1-2
Now let’s compare this with a more accurate translation!
At the beginning, the God’s (Elohim) began to create the heavens and the earth. The earth became (hayah) a chaotic (bohu) wasteland (tohu), and darkness was upon the face of the sea; and the Spirit of God brooded over the chaos.
Isaiah tells us:
The earth was not created a chaotic wasteland (bohu and tohu).
Isaiah 45:18
But Jeremiah 4:23 tells us:
I beheld the earth and it was a chaotic wasteland (bohu and tohu).
Jeremiah 4:23
The more accurate translation does seem to suggest a former violent creation on the planet, giving the scientists a thumbs up!
- Can angels (spiritual messengers) actually produce children with earth women?
Now a population explosion took place upon the earth. It was at this time that beings from the Spirit Worlds looked upon the beautiful earth women and took any that they desired to be their wives. Then Jehovah said, "My Spirit must not forever be disgraced in man, wholly evil as He is. I will give Him 120 years to mend His ways." In those days and even afterward, when the evil beings from the Spirit world were sexually involved with human women, their children became giants, of whom so many legends are told.
Genesis 6:1-4
And the Angels, that did not keep their own position but left their proper dwelling, have been kept by Him in eternal chains in the nether gloom until the judgement of that great day; just as Sodom and Gomor’rah and the surrounding cities, which likewise acted immorally and indulged in unnatural lust, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
Jude 1:6-7
We find during Moses’ time, when He sent messengers to spy out the land of Canaan, there were Giants in the land.
So they brought to the people of Israel an evil report of the land which they had spied out, saying: “The land which we have gone to spy out is a land that devours its inhabitants; and all the people we saw in it are men of great stature. And there we saw the Nephilim (fallen Angellos or Angels) and the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim; and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers and so we seemed to them.”
Numbers 13:32-33
Sippai, Lahmi and Goliath, whom David slew, were all a product of Angels and Philistine (Palestinian) women who produced monsters on the earth (1 Chronicles 20:4-8).
Yes, Angels can and do procreate!
- Did Adam and Eve people the earth as we know it today?
Adam was a disappointment to the Almighty as was His offspring. So God decided to erase man from planet earth.
Yahweh saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And Yahweh was sorry He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him to the heart. So Yahweh said ‘I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the ground… I am sorry I have made them.’ But Noah found favor in the eyes of Yahweh.
Genesis 6:5-8
The sons of Noah who went forth from the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan. These three were the sons of Noah; and from these, the whole earth was peopled.
Genesis 9:18-19
Sons of Noah:
Ham (Coptic or Black). His sons were: Egypt, Cush (Ethiopia), Phut (Africa), and Canaan. Ham gave rise to the Black race.
Shem (Renown). His sons were: Elam (Semetic), Asshur (Syria), Arpachshad (Hebrew), Lud (Arabia), and Aram (Mesopotamia). Shem: the Mid-East.
Japheth (Enlarge). His sons were: Gomer (Russians, Britons, Germans, etc), Magog (Armenia), Madai (Medes), Javan (Europe), Tubal (Iberian), Meshech (Moschi or Armenians), and Tiras (Thracians). Japheth: gave rise to the European.
The scriptures go on to tell us that Canaan, not Ham nor the Black Race, will be the slaves of both Shem and Japheth.
Genesis 9:25-27
Canaan was Ham’s 4th son. “Cursed be Canaan” for he looked on his Father’s nakedness!
- Is Christ to be a High Priest in God’s service forever? And what is the value of a celestial priest over a terrestrial, other than the obvious human frailties?
Therefore He had to be made like His brethren in every respect, so that He might become a merciful and faithful High Priest in the service of God to make expiation for the sins of the people.
Hebrews 2:17
He holds His priesthood permanently; because He continues forever.
Hebrews 7:24
Now if perfection had been attainable through the Levitical Priesthood (for under it the people received the Law), what further need would there have been for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, rather than one named after the order of Aaron? For when there is a change in the priesthood, there is necessarily a change in the Law as well.
Hebrews 7:11-12
God finished the Law, introduced Grace!
And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was Priest of God Most High. And he blessed Him and said, Blessed be Abram by God Most High, maker of heaven and earth. And blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!
Genesis 14:18-20
Unfortunately, many believe Melchizedek to be just one of the local priests, in this case Salem. Salem just happens to be Jerusalem and Melchizedek just happens to be God’s Celestial High Priest.
He is first by translation of His Name: King of Righteousness, and then he is also King of Salem, that is King of Peace. He is without father or mother or genealogy, and has neither beginning of days, nor end of life, but resembling the Son of God, He (or They) continue to be a priest forever.
Hebrews 7:1-3, 21-25
I fear that “so-called Christians” do not understand how God operates; and how necessary it is to have a High Priest on our behalf before God Almighty. How blessed we are to have a Spiritual or Celestial one. If we did not have a High Priest between God and Man we would probably fare like Sodom and Gomorrah.
- Why is Abraham important to you and me?
I am God Almighty, walk before me and be blameless. I will make my Covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.
Behold my Covenant is with you, and you shall be the Father of a multitude of nations. No longer shall your name be Abram but you shall be Abraham: “For I have made you the Father of a multitude of Nations.”
Genesis 17:1-5
For what does the scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to Him as Righteousness.
Romans 4:3
He received circumcision as a sign or seal of the righteousness He had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was to make Him the father of all who believe without being circumcised and who thus have righteousness reckoned to them!
Romans 4:11
That is why it depends on Faith, that the promise may rest on Grace and be guaranteed to all His descendants, not only to the adherents of the Law, but also to those who share the Faith of Abraham, for He is the Father of us all!
Romans 4:16-17
For through Him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father, so you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the Saints and Members of the Household of God. Built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Messiah Yashua being the chief cornerstone in which the whole structure is joined together and grows into a Holy Temple for Yahweh.
Ephesians 2:18-22
Is it possible we are adopted Israelites (Romans 11:17-32)?
- Who is Yahweh? Is it a personal name or an office?
And Yahweh appeared to Him (Abraham) by the oaks of Mamre, as He sat at the door of His tent in the heat of the day. He lifted up His eyes and looked, and behold there were men stood in front of Him.
Genesis 18:1-2
The three men turned out to be Messiah and two Angels. There are some Christians who still believe that this Yahweh was God Almighty who appeared as a man, eating and drinking and walking with Abraham, talking with Him face to face.
The scriptures are quite clear in saying:
No man has ever seen, or can ever see God.
1 Timothy 6:14-16
See also John 1:18, John 4:24, and Colossians 1:15.
Man can, however, see His Shechinah. It is a most brilliant and glorious light, shrouded by a dark cloud, revealing the outline of a Person sitting on a Throne.
The Bible tells us that Messiah will come in His Father’s Name. When Christ was here on earth He was called Yah-Shua. Yah is the short term for Yahweh. Messiah’s name meant Yahweh Saves or Savior.
