This term has always been used to describe a wonderful place or experience, but could there be a truth in it? Lets do a little scriptural exploration and see what we can find out.
Most Christians describe heaven as Pearly Gates, Streets of Gold etc. Are they correct? Absolutely! They are describing The Holy City Jerusalem. Revelation 21:10 and Revelation 21:21.
But wait! That City is described as coming down out of Heaven from God to reside on earth! Revelation 21:10, Revelation 21:24-27, Revelation 22:1-5.
How big is this City, can it house all of us? It is 1500 miles wide, 1500 miles long and 1500 miles HIGH!!! It is a foursquare cube.
And he who talked to me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls. The city lies foursquare, its length the same as its breadth; and he measured the city with his rod, twelve thousand stadia; its length and breadth and height are equal.
Revelation 21:15-16
But nothing unclean shall enter it, nor any one who practices abomination or falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Revelation 21:27
Will this City be available in the Kingdom Age (Millennium)? No. The last four Chapters of Revelation are in perfect sequence, and they carry you through the “Battle of Armageddon”. Revelation 19:11-16.
The “First resurrection”
Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom judgment was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony to Jesus and for the word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life, and reigned with Christ a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and they shall reign with him a thousand years.
Satan bound for a 1000 yrs.
And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years were ended. After that he must be loosed for a little while.
Then the scriptures tell us:
When the thousand years are ended...
Revelation 20:7-10
Satan will be loosed and come out to deceive all nations, that is GOG & MAGOG, gathers them for battle against the “CAMP” OF THE SAINTS and FIRE comes down from Heaven and destroys them all. THERE IS NO BATTLE!!! Just destruction.
You then have heavens and earth known as "A NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH"
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.
Revelation 21:1
Now you have the HOLY CITY, NEW JERUSALEM coming down out of Heaven from God, where God Himself will dwell with men!
Behold, the dwelling of God is with men. He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be with them.
Revelation 21:1-4
Actually, Yahweh God moves His 3rd Heaven to earth! Instead of us going there, He’s coming here and it will be HEAVEN ON EARTH.
If the Holy City NEW JERUSALEM is non existent during the time that Christ and His Bride rule the wicked nations with a “ROD OF IRON” FOR A 1000 YEARS where and what does He rule from?
After this I will return, and I will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up, that the rest of mankind may seek Yahweh, and the gentiles who are called by My name, says the Master, who has made these things known from of old.
Acts 15:16-18
And again:
In that day I (Christ) will raise up the tabernacle of David that has fallen and repair its breaches, and raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old; that they on whom My Name is called may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the heathen, says Yahweh who does this.
Amos 9:11-12
And again:
“Thus says the Lord:
Jeremiah 30:18-21
Behold, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob,
and have compassion on his dwellings;
the city shall be rebuilt upon its mound,
and the palace shall stand where it used to be.
Out of them shall come songs of thanksgiving,
and the voices of those who make merry.
I will multiply them, and they shall not be few;
I will make them honored, and they shall not be small.
Their children shall be as they were of old,
and their congregation shall be established before me;
and I will punish all who oppress them.
Their prince shall be one of themselves,
their ruler shall come forth from their midst;
I will make him draw near, and he shall approach me,
for who would dare of himself to approach me?
says the Lord.
And you shall be my people,
and I will be your God.”
It is important that the Christian understand that the Millennium or the Kingdom age is just a 1000 year extension of this age in which Christ, His Bride and His Armies destroy all rule and authority of opposing forces.
Then comes THE END, when He delivers the Kingdom to God the Father AFTER destroying every rule and every authority and power. FOR HE MUST RULE & REIGN UNTIL HE HAS PUT ALL HIS ENEMIES UNDER HIS FEET! The last enemy to be destroyed is DEATH. For God has put all things in subjection under His feet!
1 Corinthians 15:24-27
There is an end to this age and a beginning of the next, but the true ending comes at the beginning of the NEW AGE, after the Great White Throne Judgement.
Then and only then can the Father bring down the Holy City, New Jerusalem from Heaven to Mount Zion, where the Father Himself will dwell with Mankind.
Behold, the dwelling of God is with men. He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be with them.
Revelation 21:1-3
THIS WILL BE: HEAVEN ON EARTH!!!!
