The Fig Tree
Everyone seems to connect the Fig Tree with Israel. Let’s examine it.
For out of Zion shall go forth the law and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem. He shall judge between many nations, and decide for strong nations far away, and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore; but they shall sit, every man under his vine and under his fig tree.
Micah 4:3-4
It is obvious from the above scripture that Almighty God is ruling the nations and not Messiah. It also shows we have moved past the Kingdom Age into the New Age! There will be peace on earth at last! This tells us that the Fig Tree has to be Israel, for it also tells us that every man (Jew and Gentile)—all those who have trusted in Almighty God—shall live with Messiah. The Fig Tree has no more to do with Israel than any other nation!
The Olive Tree
We had to get the Fig Tree out of the way so you would not confuse it with the Olive Tree! The Olive Tree in allegory is ISRAEL! Paul in Romans:
...and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, were grafted in their place to share the richness of the olive tree, do not boast over the branches. If you do boast, remember it is not you that support the root, but the root that supports you. You will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast only through faith. So do not become proud, but stand in awe. For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off. And even the others, if they do not persist in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again. For if you have been cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree.
Lest you be wise in your own conceits, I want you to understand this mystery, brethren: a hardening has come upon part of Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles come in, and so all Israel will be saved; as it is written,
“The Deliverer will come from Zion,
he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;
If we Gentiles are being grafted into the OLIVE TREE THAT IS ISRAEL, does that make us ISRAELITES? Let's examine a few other scriptures on the subject!
He is not a real Jew who is one outwardly, nor is true circumcision something external and physical. He is a real Jew who is one inwardly, and real circumcision is a matter of the heart, spiritually and not literal.
Romans 2:29
Or how about this:
For He (Christ) is our peace and has made us (Jew and Gentile) both one, and has broken down the dividing wall of hostility, so then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints (in this case the Jews), and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom you are also built into for a dwelling into as a holy temple of Yahweh, in whom you are also built into a dwelling place of God in Spirit.
Ephesians 2:14-22
I feel we must enlarge our thinking and realize the next age is merely a continuation of this age with Messiah at the helm both physically and Spirutually, ruling the world from Jerusalem.
He has been sent to clean up the mess, rule and reign with a rod of iron until He has put all enemies under His feet! ONLY THEN can He return the world back to God.
Salvation Is an on going experience (1 Corinthians 15:22-28).
It will continue down through the ages to come. The cross casts its shadow in both directions: past and future. All Israel will be saved in the next age (Kingdom Age) under a future covenant as it were:
I want you to understand this mystery brethren: a hardening has come upon Israel for a season until the full number of Gentiles come in, and then all Israel will be saved! As it is written, ‘The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will banish ungodliness from Jacob and this will be my covenant with him when I take away his sins.’ As regards the gospel they are enemies of God for your sake; but as regards election they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers! For the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable. For God has consigned all men to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all.
Romans 11:25-32
Then he said to me, "son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off.’ Therefore prophecy, and say to them, thus says Yahweh God: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, oh my people and I will bring you home into the land of Israel. And I will put my spirit within you and you shall live.”
Ezekiel 37:11-12
This happens sometime near the beginning of the next age.
Now lets further investigate and find out if the Christian is absorbed into Israel at the end of the age! Fasten your seat belts. Are you really ready for this? Here we go!
In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt, and the Egyptians into Assyria. And the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be the third with Egypt and Assyria. A blessing in the midst of the earth, whom Yahweh of Hosts has blessed, saying:
Isaiah 19:23-24
"Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my heritage!
We might give some consideration to terminology at this point. It will be extremely doubtful if names like: Jesus, Christ, Christian or Christianity and Church will exist in “that day”! The Master’s Hebrew name is Yahshua (which means Yahweh saves) and fulfils the scripture: “I come in my Father’s name”. Yah is the short form for Yahweh. The Believers, Brethren, Disciples or Saints never called themselves Christians! It was intended as a term of scurrility, or abuse and was only used with contempt! Christianity will be replaced and already is by many believers as: The Messianic Community. “Church” has been replaced in many translations with the word: “Kingdom”, but it actually comes from the word: Ecclesia, which means “Called Out Ones”. Remember: “Many are called (church), but few are chosen.” Chosen for Brideship! At that time, the so called “Church” may even be called Jews or Israelites, who knows?
