The Way, The Truth, The Life

By Dr. Bud Denner

Christ’s Prayer John 17

  1. Messiah wants immediate Glorification. He knows that this means an unbearable beating, Crucifixion, three days and nights in hell, a Resurrection, a fifty day wait (Pentecost), an Ascension, and finally a returning to the Father for Glorification! What about the CUP?

And this is Life for the Ages (Eternal Life) that they KNOW you, THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and Yahshua Messiah whom you have sent.

John 17:3

We are not talking about Salvation (Safe from the wrath of God) here, we are talking about Life For The Ages. You must KNOW YAHWEH GOD as the only God, AND KNOW CHRIST AS WELL!

  1. Christ said He had ACCOMPLISHED the work God gave Him to do! But John the Baptist said:

Behold, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world; and He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

John 1:29

Christ had accomplished NONE of these things as yet, what did he mean by saying: He had accomplished the work God gave Him to do?

Perhaps preaching, teaching, prophesying, healing the sick, casting out demons, organizing Apostles and disciples were His ministry.

And he went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every infirmity among the people. So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, and paralytics, and he healed them. And great crowds followed him from Galilee and the Decap′olis and Jerusalem and Judea and from beyond the Jordan.

Matthew 4:23–25

It looks like His Father took over from there on! John 11:49–53.

Christ said he could not Baptize with the Spirit until He was Glorified,

Now this he said about the Spirit, which those who believed in him were to receive; for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

John 7:39

And he could not be Glorified until His ascension. Although The Father may have been responsible for the Crucifixion.

Yet it was the will of the Lord to bruise him; he has put him to grief;[a] when he makes himself[b] an offering for sin, he shall see his offspring, he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand; he shall see the fruit of the travail of his soul and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous; and he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Isaiah 53:10–12

Messiah was responsible for his own death!

For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again; this charge I have received from my Father.”

John 10:17–18
  1. He was sent to the lost sheep of Israel to preach the Gospel in such a way they would not accept it! How! In parables of course. Matthew 13:10–17.

I have manifested your NAME (YAHWEH) to the men you gave me.

John 17:6

First: God chose the Apostles not Christ.
Second: Our Father’s name is not LORD (a man of rank and high position), His name is YAHWEH (To Be, or Self-Existent).

I have kept them in YOUR NAME (YAHWEH) which you gave me...

I made known to them thy name, and I will make it known, that the love with which thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.” John 17:11, 26

I am praying for them. (His disciples) I AM NOT PRAYING FOR THE WORLD, but for those you have given me.

John 17:9

I do not pray for these only, but also for those who are to believe in me through their word.

John 17:20

Our duty is to pray for the household of God and all those who are predestined to come in. And please pray for all Israel! For your sake as well as their’s.
