The Blessed Hope

The blessed hope (eipis) Titus 2:13.

  1. "Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience." Romans 8:24.

  2. "But since we belong to the day, let us be sober and put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation." 1 Thesselonians 5:8.

  3. "And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness in realizing the full assurance of hope until the end." Hebrews 6:11.

  4. "We who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us." Hebrews 6:18.

  5. "For there is one body and one spirit, just as you were called to the one hope, that belongs to your call, one master, one faith, one baptism, one God and father of us all, who is above all and through all and in all". Ephesians 4:4-6.

  6. “so faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love". 1 Corinthians 13:13

  7. "If in this life we who are in messiah have only hope, we are of all men most to be pitied". 1 Corinthians 15:19.

  8. "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen Hebrews 11:1.

The point of all this, is:

A. How important hope is, it is right up there with faith and love. Our salvation is based on hope! We may think we have a know-so salvation, but it's really a hope-so salvation! However, after we are baptized in the spirit we find we have the holy spirit as a guarantee of our inheritance. 2 Corinthians 5:5

B. As we begin to grow and mature in the spirit, we find we can establish communication with God and his son via the spirit through a spiritual language and interpretation.

And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom, but taught by the spirit interpreting spiritual truths from a spiritual language".

1 Corinthians 2:13 RSV (see foot notes)

Finally Hebrews 11:1 begins to become a reality and we no longer have to look back to that salvation experience for encouragement.

Let us leave the elementary doctrines of christ and go on to maturity....

Heb 6:1.
